3D Optofluidic Microscopy (OFM)

Optofluidic microscopes, by virtue of being lens-less and on-chip, offer an inexpensive, compact, and robust solution to high-throughput imaging with submicron scale resolution. Here, we propose two methods for achieving three dimensional imaging with such microscopes. The first method uses a combination of a Bessel beam illumination and a Bessel detection module to localize the three dimensional position and brightness of every object point in the sample. In contrast, the second method uses the Bessel detection module together with a uniform illumination, and measures several perspective projections of the sample, which are then combined to form a three dimensional image.
